DUTCH SUGAR SHOVEL SPOON - 1873

This is a traditional Dutch style silver sugar spoon from the late 19th century with full set of hallmarks on the stem.

VK - Dutch silversmiths. Founded 1835 by J.M. van Kempen (1814-77) in Utrecht. 1858 moved to Voorschoten. English craftsmen were hired to instruct Dutch workers in production of forks and spoons in new techniques. Became the largest and oldest manufacturer of silver in the Netherlands.  It is 833 grade silver.

21cm long

Condition of the spoon is very good with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface scratching you would expect after over 140+ years. You could use it as a sugar spoon today or it would make a great addition to any spoon collection.

Please make sure to view all the photographs.
